Client: ARGE RegioHybrid (Working Group)
Project Term: Since 2009
Project Location: Dresden

Project Description

The project 'RegioHybrid' is the interface between research, development/production and market/practice. The aim is, using grants and high numbers of vehicles to enable a certain penetration of the market with hybrid bus technology while at the same time using the experience gathered in practice to optimise the vehicles allowing the technology to come one step closer to being ready for series production.
For the 'RegioHybrid' a consortium of ten Saxon transport companies have joined up and converted a part of their fleet of vehicles to hybrid technology in order to play their role in achieving a low emission local transport. At the end of 2011 30 buses will be in operation in cities, towns and on regional routes in the areas of the transport associations VVO, MDV and VMS. In this way the transport companies want to live up to their responsibility as ecological orientated mobility service providers offering an attractive, environmentally compatible alternative to individual motorised traffic.
