VCDB has gained extensive experience over many years in the field of strategic transport planning and in the conception, planning and evaluation of transport infrastructure investments. Through the combination of traffic and economic evaluation aspects a holistic economic approach in the processing of the various planning tasks has evolved at VCDB.
Focuses
Traffic Modelling
The traffic modelling includes the development, calibration and application of traffic projection models as well as the calculation of traffic flows. This encompasses the calculation of potentials and the steps of traffic distribution (origin-destination), and the distribution of the different types of traffic. Different modelling approaches are applied (EVA model, trip-end model, etc.) using the software VISUM and VISEVA.
Traffic Concepts
The portfolio of VCDB includes the development of all types of traffic concepts. One of the focuses is integrated transport concepts and comprehensive transportation concepts where strategic infrastructure planning often plays an essential role. In addition, VCDB’s scope of services includes not only concepts for public transport but also parking and traffic management concepts for individual motorised traffic.
Economic Feasibility Studies
The focus of the economic feasibility studies are the operational and economic assessments of planned infrastructure projects. VCDB makes use of the German method (cost accounting, standardized assessment, etc.) and of European calculation methods. If required, the profit and loss accounts of the companies concerned can be included the economic calculations.
